Bleeds are the printed areas of the sheet that extend beyond the edge of the planned publication and will be cut off during printing processing. The block's net format equals the format you want to get. The gross block format is the format before cutting, i.e. before bleeds are removed.

Inside block without bleeds is when no objects in the design will be printed to the edge of the sheet.

Inside block printing type

This option allows you to specify how and with what technology the interior of your publication will be printed. Books Factory offers the following types:

• Standard: High-quality colour printing (4+4), mono (1+1), and mixed (4+1). It is ideal for projects with demanding graphics, such as photo albums, reproductions of old photographs, or comics with deep blacks and solid fills. It stands out with high optical density and very sharp edges of the characters, observable under a microscope. It is suitable for printing on all the papers we use.
  
• Economical Mono: Designed for printing works mainly of black text and simple black illustrations. It is more cost-effective than the standard variant. Best suited for publications and documents composed solely of text or text-heavy books with minimal, less detailed illustrations—without solid fills or high contrasts. The cost-effectiveness of this solution becomes evident with print runs of several hundred, especially with print runs in the thousands. Suitable only for printing on uncoated papers.
  
• Economical Colour: Created for printing colour works and combining mono and colour pages. It is more cost-effective than the standard variant. It is intended for almost all publications and documents, except for very demanding albums containing large solid fills. The cost-effectiveness of this solution becomes apparent even with small print runs. Suitable for printing on most of the coated and uncoated papers we use.

The work contains mainly text, charts and tables. Single, small photos are also acceptable. The option also applies to 2+2 printed works (from the CMYK palette). Total coverage with colours up to 20% counted within the ordered format.

A thin transparent plastic sheet (coating) applied to usually a thick stock (covers, post cards, etc.) providing protection against liquid and heavy use, and usually emphasize existing colour, providing a glossy (or lens) effect.

Block edge printing is done in CMYK with pigment inks.

Prepare the design in three PDF files per the rule: one PDF is one surface. Remember to include 3 mm bleeds and an offset tolerance of up to 1 mm between the cover and the printed edge.

Wrap graphics around the entire book, give an impressive position to the typography or extend the illustration from the cover. Edge printing is a fascinating and unconventional solution that thrills readers.
